Truth links you to news, events, and facts and gives you ways to spread the truth about the tobacco industry. Galleries lead you to innovative ways to increase awareness using print, photography, the Web, TV, and radio.
reACT is Montana's teen-led movement against Big Tobacco. reACT joins statewide youth empowerment movements across the contry in recognizing the power of young people to effetively take on the leading cause of preventable death: commercial tobacco use.
Check out these links to National and State advocacy groups fighting Big Tobacco. Join a local chapter of a national group in your state or start up a new chapter at your high school. What you will find is a few states that have started their own anti-tobacco projects. Contact them and see how they got started. To achieve our mission, we: Promote public policies proven to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke. These include higher tobacco taxes, comprehensive smoke-free laws, well-funded tobacco prevention and stop-smoking programs, and tough regulation of tobacco products and marketing. Expose and counter tobacco industry efforts to market to children and mislead the public. Strengthen tobacco control efforts in the United States and worldwide by providing support and information to our many partners. Mobilize organizations and individuals to join the fight against tobacco. Empower a tobacco-free generation by fostering youth leadership and activism. Inform the public, policy makers and the media about tobacco’s devastating consequences and the effectiveness of the policies we support.
